Our Stories Matter
We were taught in high school how a good story should flow...
There is usually a beginning, middle and end with some kind of message or lesson in there somewhere. However in real life there are infinite stories that we tell about ourselves, with infinite beginnings, middles, and ends. The story of Sunrise Point Counseling Center is no exception.
I am Kali McDonald, LMFT-Supervisor, LPC - Founder, Owner, Therapist, and boss lady of Sunrise Point Counseling Center. When I decided to form my own private practice I knew I wanted the name to mean something important. I played with various cliche names like "New Story", or "Story of Healing" (all of which were either taken, or just didn't feel quite like home yet). Then I started to ask myself what was MY story? What chapter of my life represented the feeling I wanted my clients to have? That's when it clicked.
Sunrise Point Origins
Growing up, Kali spent majority of her summer vacation at her grandparents house. They had acres and acres of land on a lake where she could soak up all of the fun and peace that nature provides. The back porch pointed towards a piece of their land that was pointed directly east across the lake. They named that spot "Sunrise Point". That location had held countless memories of fun, rest, healing, connection, and peace for Kali's family. Those are the emotions Kali wanted to bring into her private practice for clients - Sometimes we just have to seek out the next sunrise in our story. What do you want your new day to bring?
The mission of Sunrise Point Counseling Center is to provide quality therapy services to clients who seek a supportive place to grow and heal from life's hardships. We hope to help clients to experience a life with strength, peace, and hopefully some fun sprinkled in!
Values:
Please reach us at Information@sunrisepointcc.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.
Reach out via our contact link, or contact your desired therapist directly.
While it is ideal for both partners to attend counseling, it is possible to make progress in therapy even if only one partner is participating. Your counselor can work with you to develop strategies for improving your relationship and supporting your partner's involvement in the future. However once treatment the mode of counseling cannot be changed (ex: from individual to couples).
At Sunrise Point, we want our clients to feel comfortable with their clinician and safe in bringing up any concerns they may have directly with their clinician regarding the professional services they are receiving. However if at any point a client feels the need to escalate a concern they may email the practice in general at information@sunrisepointcc.com.
